Down south you can experience virgin waves and beautiful landscapes, at places like El Cuco. In the central part of the country is the Capital San Salvador, a short drive to the coast brings you to the infamous La Libertad's Punta Roca, Zunsal, and some lesser known reef breaks up north at Acajutla.

Facts

Being a really famous surf destiny in the seventies, El Salvador has enjoyed stardom by featuring in magazines and major motion picture surf flicks. But turmoil stirred the country all through the eighties and a raging civil war persisted towards political and social issues. The stars started shining back on the country when the peace treaties were signed in 1992. The economy grew steadily, but post war vandalism and gangs have left certain insecurity in less populated areas.
The road system has been redone and is in perfect conditions, from four lane highways, to beautiful oceanside scenery, to mountain roads. A first class and biggest in central America airport. Steady monetary currency ($ 1. 00 = 8.75 colones).As a January 2000 El Salvador dolarized it´s currency, using dollar for currency everywhere. A semitropical climate that ranges between 75" to 85° F, with the water climate being in the same range. With two seasons, dry from October through May, and rainy from May to September. Located in the Tropic of Cancer and lined on 87° 41' 08" West Longitude of Greenwich(GWL) and 90° 07' 50" GWL.
